Waiting Children

Penny, Payton,Marsha, Beacan, Gemma are very malnourished, and small for their ages.

Payton, is almost 8 years old and weighs just 27 pounds.

Marsha, is 3 years old and is in urgent need of medical care.

Penny, is 11 years old and weighs under 20 pounds.

Gemma, is 5 years old and weighs 18 pounds.

Beacan, is 11 years old and weighs 23 pounds.

It is truly stomach wrenching to see the ages of these kids followed by their weight.  It's hard to fathom these kids living this way.   I'm confused as to why anyone would even let a child live like this.  It was a true surprise to me when I went  to grab Beacan's picture, I started reading his Diagnosis and was shocked by his weight as well as his age.  He does not look any older then maybe 16 month old baby.

The conditions in which these children live are HORRENDOUS.  I can not express how urgent the need is for theses kids, they are left lying in crib day in and day out.  They never get loved on or talked to.  Kids that live in these conditions lack so many things, from developmental things to medical care.  They get pretty much no medical care at all.  Sweet Marsha has hydrocephalus (Fluid around the brain)  that is untreated at this time.  Marsha needs a shunt to drain the fluid, without a shunt it is VERY painful.  This condition is also affecting her eye sight.   I talked to a mom recently who's son has hydrocephalus.   Her son has a shunt and is a normal little boy with lots of energy and laughter.  Marsha could be that way to but she needs medical care that she will only be able to get here in the US.

I encourage you to take a look at these "Little ones" profiles.  They need you more then you know.

God Bless,
Alyssa

Dear Dayna,

Hi there sweet girl!
Just a few days ago I got video of you from March 15th, 2012!  I can't even explain how happy I was to see that video of you!  You most certainly are a spunky little girl full of smiles & laughter.  I was able to pull some pictures out of the video.  All I can say is that you are the most adorable little girl, that I have seen!  So here are the new pictures that I have of you!

Cute right?  I'm more then slightly confused as to how you don't have a family yet!  I mean trust me, if my family was in the position to adopt you would become a Goodhue in an instant!  You would fit in to well!  You have the URGENT need of heart surgery, on your profile it says you haven't been feeling well.  But from the video & the pictures it looks to me like you are not letting that phase you even in the slightest.   I sure hope someone steps forward soon, to claim you as their daughter.  Your family is out there sweet girl!  I just know it!  I'm praying so hard for you.
